Les Lauréats Israéliens du Prix Nobel
Depuis 1966, Israël a gagné 12 prix Nobel : le prix Nobel de littérature en 1966, deux prix Nobel de la paix en 1978, deux prix Nobel de la paix en 1994, et quatre prix Nobel de chimie entre 2004 et 2013. Les Israéliens ont également remporté deux fois le prix Sveriges Riksbank en sciences économiques en mémoire d’Alfred Nobel.
En règle générale, l’Académie royale des sciences de Suède attend des décennies afin d’évaluer la véritable importance de chaque découverte scientifique majeure avant de décerner un prix. Ainsi, il s’est écoulé plus de 50 ans entre la fondation de l’État d’Israël en 1948 et l’attribution du premier prix Nobel de science à un citoyen israélien.
Par ailleurs, et nous pouvons tous en être fiers, jusqu’en 2019, sur les 919 lauréats du prix Nobel, 204 sont juifs (né d’un ou de deux parents juifs). Ce qui représente 22,2 % des lauréats du prix Nobel !
