A true celebration of Jerusalem, this clip (6:44) offers a glimpse of some of the major contributions KKL-JNF has made to building, developing, and sustaining Israel’s capital city. From preserving historical sites to creating new forests, parks, and tourist attractions, KKL-JNF improves the quality of life of Jerusalem residents while protecting the city’s natural environment. Their local educational outreach initiatives (e.g. in Ammunition Hill, the Botanical Gardens, and the Gazelle Valley Park) inspire youth about their heritage and instill in them a love of the land of Israel. Jerusalem’s two major universities – Hebrew University and Bezalel Academy of Art and Design – are built on land that was initially purchased by KKL-JNF. Finally, the KKL-JNF makes it part of their mission to empower Jerusalem’s disadvantaged populations by making all their parks accessible and creating school parks, like the Ilanot School park, specifically designed for children with special needs.
