Produced by the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem, this video (04:26) presents highlights from the dedication ceremony of the 9/11 Living Memorial in the Jerusalem Forest on November 12, 2009. Designed by Jerusalem artist, Eliezer Weishoff, and sponsored by KKL-JNF, the 30-foot-tall sculpture of an American flag transforming into a torch was the first memorial constructed outside of the United States and the only one outside of the United States to include the names of all 2,977 victims. With song, prayer and speeches from Israeli and American political leaders, the ceremony emphasized the shared values and experiences of the two countries.
